Position Title: Industrial Spray Painter
Job Summary:
The Industrial Spray Painter is responsible for applying protective and decorative coatings to various metal & other industrial machine frames, equipment & metal surfaces using spray painting techniques. The role requires a high-quality finish on all painted surfaces while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining efficiency in the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking areas that do not require paint.
2. Operate spray painting equipment, including spray guns, airless sprayers, and automated systems.
3. Mix paints and coatings according to specifications, ensuring proper consistency and color matching.
4. Apply coatings to parts and products, ensuring uniform coverage and an even finish.
5. Inspect finished surfaces for quality, identifying defects such as runs, bubbles, or unevenness, and making necessary touch-ups.
6. Maintain and clean spray painting equipment and tools to ensure proper function and longevity.
7. Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to environmental regulations.
8. Collaborate with other team members, including preparers and quality inspectors, to ensure overall production goals are met.
9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications:
1. Certification in industrial painting techniques is a plus.
2. Previous experience as a spray painter or in a similar role, preferably in an industrial setting.
3. Strong understanding of paint materials, surface preparation techniques, and spray painting equipment.
4. Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
5. Knowledge of safety standards related to the use of chemicals and spray painting equipment.
6. Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve standing, bending, and lifting heavy materials.
Work Environment:
1. Industrial manufacturing or construction environments.
2. Exposure to various chemicals and solvents, with proper PPE required.
3. This role is critical to ensuring that products are finished to a high standard, maintaining both aesthetic and functional quality in the final products.
This role may require you assisting in other areas of the manufacturing site when not painting so a person who is adaptable and flexible to undertake other roles to assist in the production areas.
