We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager to join our Queensland Logistics team based at our Gladstone site, reporting to the Logistics Manager – Queensland. Covering the Central Queensland region, no two days will be the same as you work with everyone from allocations and safety to customers and service providers to support your team. You'll use your great organisational skills to quickly resolve issues as they arise, anticipate potential risks and juggle those inevitable conflicting priorities. As we introduce new technologies in to the fleet, your confidence in managing change will play a role in their success. With exceptional communication skills and a natural ability to build relationships, you'll quickly make a difference to the Logistics team. As a Transport Manager you will: Lead a diverse team of Heavy Vehicle Operators from local rail delivers to long distance Road Train activity by providing coaching and mentoring whilst driving a high performing collaborative team with customer service excellence Responsible for compliance with Workplace Health and Safety legislation and Company policies whilst ensuring zero harm to employees Provide a high quality, cost effective service that exceeds customer expectations Responsible for CQ Road Transport operations in accordance with relevant legislation – CoR, NHVAS, NHVR, DG and BFM. Visit customer sites, providing high quality, cost effective service that exceeds expectations Complete reporting and other administrative duties Assist in managing the maintenance profit and loss whilst identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in cost management and fleet utilisation Manage team absences and rosters as well as use of Lorry Owner Drivers and 3rd Party Carriers Take a hands on approach to supporting the team and customers Requirements: Demonstrated commitment to safety 3 years' experience leading a team 3 years' experience in the Transport industry Experience in bulk transport (powder or liquid) would be an advantage Awareness of road transport legislation e.g. NHVR, BFM Ability to operate independently and make decisions quickly and confidently Intermediate or above IT skills with strong Microsoft Office, specifically Excel Experience managing contractors and 3rd party logistics Basic knowledge and experience in dealing with budgets and cost management Ability to prioritise workload whilst in a fast pace environment Excellent communication skills with strong leadership capability About us: At Cement Australia, we're proud to be at the forefront of Australia's cement industry, contributing to the construction of iconic landmarks like the Sydney Harbour bridge and Brisbane's airport runway.
