About the RoleThis is an ongoing STS role.Reporting to the Executive Director of Metro Train, the Associate Director for Train Franchise Rolling Stock Interface and Compliance is responsible for leading a team to manage all commercial strategies within the rolling stock module of the Metropolitan Train Franchise and the HCMT Public Private Partnership Agreement (PPP). This role requires a proactive approach to ensuring that all obligations related to these agreements are met and align with the standards of the Department of Transport and Planning.As a pivotal role in overseeing complex commercial arrangements, this position involves close collaboration with the Rolling Stock Development Division (RSD), Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM), and Evolution Rail (EV) to facilitate the successful deployment and operation of HCMT rolling stock and associated infrastructure on the metropolitan rail network. The Associate Director will work to maximise passenger service delivery and value for money while ensuring the seamless management of the rolling stock assets.The role demands effective contract compliance leadership, requiring the Associate Director to head a multidisciplinary team focused on resolving commercial and contractual matters within a complex, high-risk environment. With limited guidance, the Associate Director must operate independently to establish systems and procedures that guide work, set clear objectives, prioritise tasks, and adjust as needed to meet critical deadlines.
