This role will deliver strategic risk insights, enhance risk analytics capabilities, and contribute to sustainable organisational growth. What will your key responsibilities include? Mature the Balance Sheet Risk and Risk Analytics function, aligning with industry and organisational expectations. Lead analytics initiatives, including machine learning and AI, to enhance risk modelling and data insights. Ensure compliance with Board risk limits through rigorous monitoring, reporting, and stress testing. Analyse trends, market changes, and data to provide actionable insights, translating these for executive and Board decision-making. Develop and maintain policies to manage earnings-at-risk (EAR) and economic value sensitivities (EVS) within defined tolerances. Challenge treasury operations effectively, ensuring robust risk mitigation strategies and operational hygiene. Elevate awareness of market risk and analytics issues among executive and risk management teams. Provide thought leadership to elevate market risk awareness among executives and the Board. Define a clear vision for the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Lead by example with enthusiasm and humility, building strong relationships across diverse teams. What are we looking for? We are seeking a leader with a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong interpersonal skills to drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment: Highly developed skills in market risk quantitative modelling, scenario analysis, and advanced analytics (including AI and machine learning). Expertise in the Australian banking and financial services industry, including key challenges and regulatory implications. Exceptional written communication skills, with experience preparing insightful Board reports. Proven ability to influence and lead strategic change, navigating from the current state to the desired future state. A forward-thinking mindset with the ability to bring diverse perspectives and innovative ideas. Sound judgement and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on delivering outcomes efficiently.
