Reporting directly to the Plant Maintenance Superintendent, this role will be crucial in providing governance of the Station Electrical Maintenance delivery across in-house maintenance, embedded contractors and specialised service delivery contractors on day-to-day maintenance, outages and projects.What you'll be doingYou will provide specialist electrical technical expertise to the station's high voltage electrical system, associated high voltage motors, transformers, switchgear and protection systems, generator excitation systems and test equipment. Your responsibilities will include efficient service delivery, testing, technical support, and governance for contracted maintenance.Additional responsibilities include:
Conducting hands-on testing and ensuring quality control of contracted work for protection schemes, metering systems, synchronisation systems, and high voltage equipment.Supporting routine and defect work in the electrical power systems, including after-hours critical plant service.Investigating faults, identifying root causes, and preparing reports.Supporting approved capital projects and outage works in the High Voltage area, including commissioning and documentation updates.About You A Diploma in Electrical, Power Engineering or equivalent is advantageous.Demonstrated experience in working with high voltage plant and ancillary systems, including diagnostic and routine testing, as well as expertise in protection, excitation, and synchronisation systems.Expertise in risk management, safety management, and environmental compliance.A valid Victorian Driver's License.The capability to work effectively both within a small team and independently.Tertiary or trade qualifications related to the energy industry are advantageous.A Grade Electrical license, Current LV permits, HV Permits, and HV Test Permits are an advantage.Inclusion at AGLAt AGL, we value diversity and welcome applicants from various backgrounds, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, individuals with disabilities, culturally diverse individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
