Chisholm’s culture of Belonging & Inclusion strives to promote a self-regulating culture that enhances the experiences of our employees, students and communities.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Apprenticeship Support Program, delivered by the Victorian Government’s Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions, aims to deliver high-quality assistance to Apprentices, to support positive outcomes throughout the apprenticeship journey.The Team Leader - Apprentice Support is responsible for leading a dedicated team to deliver a high-quality, consistent program across the Southeast region, ensuring it meets the needs of apprentices while aligning with government guidelines. This role involves overseeing staff, providing guidance and mentorship, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The Team Leader will manage program operations, ensuring its relevance and effectiveness, while also being accountable for report writing, budget management, and stakeholder engagement. The role will also carry a caseload to provide direct support to apprentices.Key responsibilities include:Lead the ASO team to deliver consistent services and programs across all campuses.Lead the development and initiation of apprentice support programs by establishing clear links between support programs and student satisfaction and working with key stakeholders to build awareness of opportunities.Lead the development and forward planning of resources including technology, systems and learning materials to support a best practice learning environment.Act as a key liaison and advisor to apprentices during the early stages of their apprenticeship by promoting the program and providing information and guidance.Manage a caseload of apprentices for a specified district, providing ongoing support for apprentices identified as requiring mentoring and support to improve student retention.Provide mentoring and support whilst referring apprentices to liaise with personal support agencies such as counselling, welfare services, learning and disability support within the scope of relevant legislations and privacy act.Influencing and providing sound advice to apprentices and employers, addressing their challenges to successfully achieve the core objectives for employer and apprentices both.Understand and manage the development of high-quality strategies to support and contribute to the achievement of the apprenticeship support program strategic goal.Develop and maintain a strong customer-focused approach to the delivery of timely, accurate and appropriate information and expert advice to various stakeholders.Compile and maintain reports on ASO engagement for proactive interventions and case management including meeting records, issues identified and investigated, strategies advised, tracking referrals to supporting agencies utilised and status of outcomes, meeting the contractual obligations.ABOUT YOUYou are a highly motivated individual with:Sound knowledge and familiarity of the Victorian Vocational Education and Training sector including the role of RTOs and Australian Apprenticeship Support Networks.Extensive management and stakeholder experience.Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to self-manage caseloads.Demonstrated clear and concise written communication skills to produce a variety of complex reports on sensitive issues.Demonstrated skills in counselling or youth development, including those from disadvantaged groups.The ability to respond to emergency situations that occur during out of hours, including evenings and weekends.Current Australian Driver’s Licence.Your own well-maintained vehicle to travel across to different campuses.Qualifications required for the role:A relevant tertiary qualification and/or related industry experience, particularly in Social Work/Youth Work and/or extensive experience working in the apprenticeship field.ABOUT USChisholm is one of the largest vocational training providers in the state with a team of over 1,400 dedicated staff supporting 41,000 students who choose to study at Chisholm and training at our modern campuses across Melbourne’s southeast and online.
