We are currently seeking two Business Partners to provide financial and commercial leadership across key areas of our organisation.
Business Partner – Corporate Services: This role will be a trusted advisor to the Sales and Corporate functions, delivering insightful financial and commercial analysis. You will drive process improvements, develop business cases, and provide strategic support to enable operational success and long-term growth.
Business Partner – Operations: Partnering with Operations teams across both MCEC and Nyaal Banyul, this role will provide critical financial insights and analysis to enhance business performance. You will lead process improvements, strategic planning, and business case development, ensuring strong financial stewardship and operational efficiency.

Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre
Overlooking Corio Bay, Nyaal Banyul is more than just a venue—it’s a place of gathering, learning, and celebration. Set to open in 2026, it will feature a 1,000-seat theatre and 3,700 sqm of flexible event space, making it ideal for events of all sizes.
Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre
Located in the heart of Melbourne, Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC) is Australia’s largest and most versatile convention and event venue. Operated by the Victorian Convention and Exhibition Trust (VCET), MCEC offers world-class facilities, including expansive exhibition halls, flexible meeting spaces, and a state-of-the-art plenary that hosts everything from global conferences to live entertainment and community events.

* Act as a trusted financial and commercial advisor to the respective functions, whilst providing relevant commercial insights and analysis.
* Conduct regular financial reviews with your stakeholder group, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
* Provide support on commercial projects, maintaining financial models and assisting in business case preparation where required.
* Support the development of the financial planning for the respective functions including annual budgets and monthly forecast updates, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Provide key stakeholders with cost and key metric reporting to monitor performance against plans and forecasts.
* Deliver accurate, timely and actionable financial insights through forecasting and reporting.
* Analyse financial data, trends and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for growth and/or cost savings.
* Review monthly performance including variance analysis and action plans to address any risks/opportunities.
* Partner with key stakeholders to support strategic planning processes with appropriate data to support key objectives and measures.
* Support the transition to more data-driven decision making through supporting BI strategies and teams, and using tools at your disposal (i.e. PowerBI).
* Support with Capital Expenditure planning and lifecycle management for respective functions including development of business cases and appropriate supporting data.
About you:
* Significant experience in business partnering roles, particularly with a focus on operational or Corporate Service teams.
* An analytical, proactive mindset and a can-do positive attitude.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, team building, leadership, influencing and presentation skills.
* The ability to constructively challenge in order to seek better outcomes.
* Confident and clear communication skills, especially the ability to build the financial and commercial acumen of the wider operational teams.
* Strong planning and stakeholder management skills.
* Comfortable in ambiguity, a problem solver, and able to adapt and lead through change.

* Exposure to working in a matrix-style organisational structure.
