THE ROLE: Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance some of your core responsibilities will include: Overseeing the financial control team of 2 to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financial statements, general ledgers, associated reconciliations, internal and external reporting and disclosures for the group.
Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts.
Facilitating the provision of audit and related information for statutory audits -working closely with external auditors.
Preparing & distribute month end Group timetable, monitoring the achievement of deadlines across the group.
Working closely with business unit Finance, subsidiary companies & joint ventures to ensure financial reporting requirements and deadlines are understood.
Assisting with the completion of group consolidation and preparation of financial statements.
Assisting in annual budget preparation and quarterly forecast of balance sheet and cash flow for the group.
Completing complex accounting including accounting for the investment portfolio.
Assisting with decision making by providing key stakeholders with insightful and evidence informed analysis and advice.
Consistently keeping abreast of changes to accounting standards and other regulatory requirements.
THE CANDIDATE: To secure this role the ideal candidate will have: Relevant qualifications in finance, accounting or related disciplines with CA or CPA accreditation.
Previous experience (5-7 years) in a role within either a large organisation/group or a Big 4 or similar chartered firm – you're comfortable in a role that sees you interpret and communicate highly technical accounting issues under AIFRS The kind of personality that enjoys a fast paced, ever changing environment that comes with working across a group of companies.
You are comfortable delivering accurate financial insights to key stakeholders so they can make effective business decisions.
You also enjoy working with external auditors.
Experience managing a small team – you're comfortable providing guidance and training so the team consistently meet their delivery of objectives.
Advanced reporting and excel skills with knowledge of Oracle, NetSuite or TM1 a definite advantage.
The ability to work under pressure, prioritise competing deadlines and always meet tight deadlines.
