About MRPV
Major Road Projects Victoria (MRPV) is delivering a massive investment in the state’s roads. We’re delivering major new road projects across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria while improving the roads people rely on every day.
North East Link will fix the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network with new km tunnels from Watsonia to Bulleen. We’re also overhauling the Eastern Freeway and completing the M80 Ring Road at Greensborough. This role will work closely with the M80 Ring Road Alliance from their site office.
4. Develop project programs to ensure completion targets and schedules are realistic and performance can be readily planned, monitored, managed, and reported for all phases of the project lifecycle.
5. Undertake detailed review and evaluation of sub contractors programs and incorporate into master program advising management on performance and any mitigations.
6. Provide support, expert advice and contribution to the development of “time phased” project budget and cost plans as necessary to ensure clarity of project delivery.
7. Advise Senior management on schedule and performance issues arising and recommend improvements and mitigation actions to ensure project programs are robust and able to be delivered within the required time frames.
8. Where individual project performance activities vary significantly from agreed targets, assist in the development of mitigation strategies and action plan to return the project activities to the required performance standards.
Reporting to the Planning Manager, The Senior Planner and Scheduler works within the delivery team providing high level planning and scheduling advice for package leadership, developing programs for various complex work packages and monitors progression of works accurately in a timely manner. The position is also accountable for ensuring compliance with North East Link Program (NELP) wide strategic planning and technical best practice guidance as well as supporting continuous improvement objectives.
This position partners with internal and external stakeholders ensuring completeness, accuracy and clarity of works programs, the identification of critical works, and the timely communication of program delays along with mitigation strategies.
About You
9. Not only will you possess an excellent track record in delivering complex schedules, but you will also be able to see the bigger picture implications behind contractor proposals.
10. Extensive knowledge of whole of project life-cycle project management and program methodologies including business case development and demonstrated delivery through design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
11. Prior experience in the preparation of work breakdown structures and project budgets and ability to relate physical activities to project costing and Earned Value frameworks.
12. Ability to develop detailed construction programs for major infrastructure projects from first principles using measured quantities and industry accepted productivity rates utilising Primavera or Microsoft Project
This opportunity is a 3-year fixed-term position.
It will be a requirement to travel and spend time at one or all of our site offices, with the primary location being the Alliance site office in Watsonia (AK Lines Reserve).
