Responsibilities include product strategy, product development, pricing, profitability, and marketing. In addition to classic product management functions, the individual will successfully commercially manage new products through 3rd party OEM, CM, ODM suppliers as required. This position has cross-functional responsibility managing to desired business outcomes with Sales, R&D, Engineering, operations, manufacturing, and distribution channels. Strong emphasis on market and customer requirements and managing successful product and solution deliverables that meet the customers and business objectives.This role can be based out of Australia with a preferred location to be Melbourne or Sydney.How you can help make a change:Manage the product life cycle. Accountability for the product lines P&L, including revenue attainment, gross margin, margin dollars and EBIDTA targets.Supports sales and marketing efforts by leading research of market opportunities and competitors with existing product line in assigned markets.Responsible for providing expertise and maintaining product evaluations on competitive product offers and acts as a main customer contact on product requirements, voice of the customer reviews and engineering R&D engagements.With superior knowledge of target markets and customers, be responsible for new product visioning, idea generation and be integral in technology and product roadmap development.Represent Product Line Management as defined in the product development process.Develop business cases including financial evaluations (RR, ROI, OPEX, CAPEX Cost).Cost and pricing targets.Engineering and operation reviews as product is brought to market.Have full understanding of existing portfolio, cost positions for all product variables and total understanding of customer price points.Documents customer and market product development or cost down opportunities into clear and precise requirements and specifications with clear cost and customer pricing targets.Responsible for profit and loss (P&L), evaluating, recommending and initiating cost reductions, discount analysis and inventory levels. Develops and evaluates opportunities for new products and/or line extensions.Lead implementation of product plans in assigned region including new product launches, positioning, pricing and go-to-market strategies in collaboration with APAC Broadband Segment, Marketing, FAE and Sales teams.Manage and develop sales and marketing materials where additional technical expertise is required on specific solutions, applications, architectures, or assigned markets.Attends trade shows, reviews market/trade publications and interfaces with sales workforce and FAE. Supports market definition/customers and product positioning.Represents the developmental product definition into engineering teams that includes cost and performance objectives, reliability and functional features, manufacturability, and life cycle forecasts.Supports APAC Regional Channel Manager for product related requirements when selecting sales/distribution channels to target markets and customers.Responsible for the launch of new products. Initiates and participates in the development of all marketing collateral material. Develops and conducts product, market and application training. Ensures successful transition to market.Develop and work with APAC Regional functions to support product interests for localization opportunities through local content requirements, Contract Manufacturing, OEM, ODM and supply partnerships.Represent assigned region in all S&OP sales, planning and operations meetings.Participate in E&O Inventory reviews and assist in proactively coming up with strategies to keep E&O to a minimum with creative incentivized ways for stock to be sold.You will excite us if you have the following skills:Minimum 10-12 years relevant product management experience in IT industry, preferably in Networking or Broadband domain.Strong technical understanding of FTTx and customer architectures.Proven ability to grow a product line or demonstrated ability to work on a new product.Analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to articulate complex concepts to a broad range of internal and external audiences.Proven ability to effectively communicate with several types and levels of staff and external contacts, both in writing and verbally.Must have effective technical and presentation skills.Ability to work simultaneously on many priorities, which change frequently.Assertive, persuasive and creative problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to organize and effectively lead and work cross-functionally.Demonstrated ability to build consensus across multiple functional departments.Knowledge of financial components of product and marketing management, including product contribution margins, profit and loss statements, budget processes, and return on investment calculations.Demonstrated ability to develop, defend and manage business plans.Experienced in recruiting, hiring and developing talent; demonstrated leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.Experience gathering customer and market feedback to develop a detailed revenue and volume forecast.
