Our client is a well-known and highly reputable national provider of high-quality services to the mining, energy, industrial and agriculture sectors. Due to internal movement we’re on the hunt for a Workshop Supervisor to join their team. As the Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and managing the workshop team to ensure quality, efficiency and budget targets are met.
About the role:
* Set priorities, plan workload, meet deadlines and achieve the objectives of the branch.
* Complete project costing and quoting to help ensure projects flow through the workshop area at an acceptable rate.
* Supervise, train and develop the skills of the workshop team to ensure succession planning for key roles across the branch and increase job satisfaction.
* Effectively delegate decision making to staff to reflect their position and ability.
* Contribute to workshop operations review meetings with the team and Workshop Manager
* Lead workshop support team day to day functions to maximise shop floor production.
* Develop and maintain effective networks with contractors, customers and suppliers.
* Ensure new and existing employees under your supervision receive adequate instruction and support to successfully complete the new employee orientation and training programs.
* Ensure accuracy and completeness of the information in the ERP system.
What we’re looking for:
* Minimum mechanical trade certificate, with hydraulic post trade experience.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in the fluid power industry and/or other related industrial trade/supervisory activities including workshop, service and supervisory functions.
* Adequate industry-based training and experience to enable sound managerial judgement.
* Demonstrated supervisory experience, skills and/or training.
* Required to understand and have worked with design and service of hydraulic systems.
* Must have hydraulic product and application knowledge.
* Negotiation, organizing, costing and quotation experience, budget analysis, personnel management and any other skills relevant to the supervision of the workshop.
* Ability to learn key points of the ERP system from a workshop perspective.
* Well displayed skills in Microsoft Office programs.
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to communicate with people of all levels and supervise teams to ensure best outcomes are achieved
