ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites, gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world, from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback. Due to anticipated growth across our flagship portfolio in Central QLD, we have exciting opportunities for experienced Chefs interested in joining the remote sector, working 14:7 rosters (2 weeks on, 1 week off).
The Positions
Work collaboratively with a team of Chefs, Kitchen Utilities and Dining Room employees
Buffet style bulk cooking for Breakfast, Crib, Lunch, and/or Dinner and Desserts
Ensure OH&S compliance, adhering to safe work practices and food handling procedures
Ensure all catering controls are in place, and wastage is kept to a minimum
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, infection control and cleanliness in accordance with Compass standards
The Person
Chef Qualifications / Cert III in Commercial Cookery
Experience within bulk catering environments
Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations
Experience in menu writing, rostering and cost control
Experience with hygienic work practices and appropriate HACCP guidelines
