My client is working with a Federal government department to deliver a large network modernization program. They are looking for an experience Network Design Engineer to support them on a 6-month initial contract with likelihood of extension. To be successful in this position you will have previous experience in creating detailed design for a large network transformation or upgrade project. Responsibilities: Collaborate with technical leads to design and implement functional network solutions that meet both company and customer requirements. Take charge of network design projects from conception to documentation, ensuring all solutions align with client needs and company standards. Integrate third party subsystems (e.g. VHF and ADS-B interfaces, monitoring systems, recording systems) into existing sites and services utilising modern network interfaces. Lead the network monitoring and support processes, designing reports and managing crisis responses to ensure stable and continuous network operations. Requirements: 7+ years’ of experience in a network engineering role, demonstrating advanced proficiency in network design, implementation, and support. Strong understanding of network protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, and experience with complex network environments. Proficiency in managing and configuring network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls Possess a strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications Familiar with signalling protocols, TDM framing/timing, WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, ATM and specific routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, RTP, VoIP technologies, and VHF and ADS-B technologies Must be an Australian Citizen- Able to undergo and obtain Australian Defence security clearance to Baseline.
