About the Office The Office of the Provost is responsible for supporting the Office of the Vice Chancellor and President in delivering the ANU Strategic Plan with a particular focus on integrated management of the University’s academic activities, encompassing education, research and innovation and the student and staff experience. The Office of the Provost provides academic leadership and oversight to the Colleges, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and (Research & Innovation) portfolios to drive the strategic outcomes of the University. Position overview This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and proactive Executive Assistant to support the Office of the Provost at one of Australia’s leading universities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality administrative and executive support to a Senior Executive. As Executive Assistant to the Provost, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Office, supporting strategic priorities and high-level decision-making processes. You will be responsible for providing confidential executive support, complex diary and correspondence management, preparing high-quality documentation, and coordinating logistics for meetings, events, and engagement activities. Working closely with senior academic and professional staff across the University, the EA must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism and discretion. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical and digital capabilities, including proficiency with enterprise systems, online scheduling tools, and document management platforms. Experience working in a complex governance or academic environment will be highly regarded. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a proactive and highly organised executive assistant with experience supporting senior leaders in complex environments, ideally within higher education. They will bring exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities with discretion and professionalism. High-level digital literacy and a commitment to confidentiality are essential, along with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset.
