The role also oversees tax governance and reporting for ORIX and supports management accounting tasks such as forecasting and budgeting.In Australia, the role is also responsible for Australian tax accounting, month end processing of tax journals, Balance Sheet reconciliations, regulatory reporting (statutory and Board reporting, corporate and indirect tax reporting - including transfer pricing), and management accounting assistance (forecasting, budgeting, various analyses and other ad hoc reporting).For ORIX New Zealand Limited, the role is responsible for Tax Governance and reporting oversight.Included In What You'll Do:Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws (including corporate income tax, GST, FBT, withholding taxes, transfer pricing, thin capitalisation, hybridity and Australian state-by-state payroll taxes).Ensure OACL retain appropriate tax positions in line with tax risk appetite and monitor for any tax legislative and tax administrative changes.Preparation of all applicable Australian and (review of New Zealand) corporate tax returns, lodgements, reporting, and disclosures.Preparation and processing of all applicable Australian tax accounting, including direct and indirect tax calculations, current/deferred tax calculations, parent company tax schedules, payroll tax accounting, journalling, and reconciliations.Ensuring compliance with ATO and IRD tax governance expectations, with tax governance policies and processes kept up-to-date and continually enhanced.Preparation of OACL and review of ONZ Board Tax Reports.Delivery of Head Office monthly tax updates and other reporting requirements.Ensure adherence to prescribed internal policies and procedures to satisfy Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance obligations.Conduct tax technical sessions for those with a role that may support OACL in meeting its Australian and New Zealand corporate and employment taxes obligations.Advise the business on customer tax-related matters e.g FBT in relation to customer reporting.Support the Finance Team on any tax-related reporting or general tax-related input and administration requirements such as forecasting / budgeting and ad hoc requests.Contribute to a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and operational excellence within the Finance Team.Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across the tax function, ensuring best market practices are implemented and sustained.What You Have:At least 5 years’ experience in tax management and accounting in a corporate or professional services environment.Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation (direct, indirect, and cross-border taxes).Experience in tax governance, financial reporting, and tax accounting.CA and relevant tax qualifications.Big 4 background.Strong taxation technical skills.Knowledge of financial reporting and tax accounting (including journals and reconciliations).Demonstrated knowledge of tax governance and compliance legislation in Australia and New Zealand.Ability to research and present both verbal and written supportable tax positions.Excellent proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software.Applications welcome from 18/03/25 to 15/04/25Seniority levelNot ApplicableEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionAccounting/AuditingIndustriesMotor Vehicle Manufacturing
