Senior Legal Counsel - In-House Construction & Infrastructure Lawyer
About the role
UGL is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our specialist in-house legal team. We're seeking a front end/projects lawyer to work on new projects, based in one of our offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, North Sydney, or Perth.
Key responsibilities
Heavy involvement in negotiating, drafting and settling contracts ranging from complex engineering and infrastructure projects to small operation, maintenance or construction projects, leases, joint venture proposals and other commercial arrangements in order to safeguard UGL's interests, including PPP's. Provide assistance to project and contract managers involved with major projects, including the setting up and monitoring of contract administration procedures. Lead discussions and negotiations, and report on legal risks in tenders and contracts. What we offer

Admitted to practice law in a state or territory of Australia. Substantial experience as a qualified solicitor with expertise in engineering, infrastructure and construction, and operation and maintenance contracts. Strong understanding and experience on the commercial and legal requirements of the contract lifecycle. Enjoy working on a variety of matters. Comfortable exercising initiative and autonomy commensurate with your experience.
