Great autonomous role to make your mark as Victoria State Manager. This role is responsible for overseeing the VIC & SA region to ensure effective, efficient and accurate business operations in freight movement and warehouse operations. Answering to the GM - Operations, your respnsibilities are: Adhere to all policies and procedures Adhere to all workplace health and safety standards Manage the day-to-day operations of all facilities within the state, and SA, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company standards Drive efficiency in freight movement, warehouse operations, and route planning Ensure the fleet and equipment are maintained and utilised effectively Ensure adherence to all state and federal transport and logistics regulations Build and maintain relationships with key customers, ensuring service expectations are met or exceeded Act as the escalation point for major customer and operational challenges Liaise with vendors, subcontractors and other partners to support operational needs Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure effective collaboration and mutual growth Monitor subcontractor performance against key metrics, addressing any issues proactively Identify and implement opportunities for reducing subcontracting costs without compromising quality Oversee state-level budgets, ensuring cost efficiency while achieving service goals Analyse financial performance and implement strategies to improve margins Manage labour appropriately to achieve department targets and company requirements Recruit and on board personnel as required in partnership with Human Resources Manage the performance of staff members Facilitate investigation, disciplinary and grievance proceedings to ensure impartial resolution of workplace conflicts and violations Ensure all elements of reporting reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner, in line with company and customer expectations Communicate issues and to Management, in order to devise economical and effective resolutions Experience and skills: Minimum of 5 years experience in the transport logistics industry and management Well developed administrative, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills. Ability to prioritise and organise work appropriately and complete task simultaneously. Ability to plan and coordinate activities to provide professional and efficient services. Proficient use of MS Office and IT applications. Possess acute data entry and problem-solving skills. Possess flexibility, adaptability and versatility of approach to handle changing work requirements. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy across all functions.
