About the role
A temporary position for the role of Venues Support Officer is available within the Community Venues team for up to 12 months.
Our Community and Library Venues contribute to the City of Sydney’s vision for a socially just and inclusive city by providing the broader community with access to a variety of venue spaces for a diverse range of activities.
With support from the Venue Coordinator and Area Manager, Venue Support Officers are responsible for maintaining the efficient and effective operations of our community venues for hire. The Community Venues team will also be involved in a significant business transformation project over the next 6 – 12 months, when a new online booking system will be implemented. The Venue Support Officers in the team will play a significant role in supporting our community to understand how the new system works and getting them comfortable in using it.
We are seeking a highly motivated person with existing or transferrable experience and skills, interested in working in a high-paced and challenging environment.
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Demonstrated experience in previous roles working in facility management, venue hire, customer service or similar
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Experience in customer-facing roles and/or of working in community or local government settings with demonstrable experience working with multiple stakeholders and partners
* Demonstrated experience in time management
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience of responding to customer and community emails in a timely and effective manner
The role is office-based with some requirements for visiting venues to carry out inspections or to show people around.
