GCMarine is looking for a self-motivated and experienced Excavator Operator and/or H6 Crane Operator to assist with our continued workload expansion.
The position… You will be required to operate and maintain GCMarine in-house plant and equipment to fulfil our strong future projects backlog. You will bring to our organisation a very unique set of skills associated with Marine Construction and the ability to take charge and problem solve when the need arises.
This position offers a 4-day, 38 hr work week Monday to Thursday with the possibility of overtime as required.
Responsibilities:Operate plant and equipment specifically relating to marine civil works within strict workplace health and safety guidelines.Operating & maintaining plant/machinery such as 5t & 13.5t Excavators, 25t Franna, and various utes and trucks.Installation of marine piles, jetties, boat ramps, concrete footings, and other marine foreshore works predominately in SEQ and from time to time further afield including interstate.Liaise with contractors and GCMarine management to co-ordinate onsite relocation activities.You will have… Current excavator ticket and be proficient in operating excavators.Ability to read engineered drawings and accurately follow design requirements.Ability to perform Pre-Starts on machinery & be mechanically minded for minor repairs.Current Drivers Licence.Enthusiasm, experience, and confidence.First-rate communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at varying levels.It would also be very beneficial but not a deal breaker if you have or don't have… Previous experience in operating an excavator while working over/near water is preferred, as the majority of works will be on a barge.H6 Crane licence advantageous.HC Truck licence advantageous.Coxswain ticket or QLD Boat License is preferred but not essential.PLEASE NOTE: This position is not a full-time operator role, meaning you will not be working in the machine/crane/truck all day, every day. When you are not doing these roles, you will be working as part of our labouring team doing general labouring work which could include but not be limited to pontoon manufacturing, civil work, and pontoon installations.
