About Us:
Spinifex State College - Mount Isa opened in 2003 after community consultation determined that the two previous state high schools - Mount Isa State High School and Kalkadoon State High School - should merge. We are a three campus educational facility. Our Junior Campus caters to years 7-9, Senior Campus years 10-12 and the Residential Campus houses all boarding students.
We also inspire our students to explore their passions, harness their unique talents and fulfil their potential. Our vision is to provide an education that develops clever, skilled and creative Spinifex graduates. We provide a wide range of learning opportunities to ensure that we are able to support the learning needs of our diverse student population.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
* Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
* Set high standards for student and staff performance.
* Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
* Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
