The Role
The Communications Officer within the Customer Strategy and Communications division is responsible for the development and coordination of a range of communication materials for internal and external audiences. One of the key roles of the position is to develop and maintain content for the PTA intranet, write content for publications and assist in the development of communications strategy.
You will be a key member of the PTA’s communications division and work in a highly motivated, dynamic, and supportive team. You will work closely with Transperth Train Operations (TTO) and be located at both the Public Transport Centre in East Perth and TTO at Perth Station.
About you
The successful candidate will have highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with operational divisions to source and create content, and ensure corporate information is being disseminated appropriately. Your analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines and balance conflicting demands will be highly regarded.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
1. A tertiary qualification and/or relevant expertise in marketing, communications, or other related discipline.
2. Relevant communications expertise, including: Project management experience in website initiatives or online information technology projects.Experience in using content management systems, writing and editing for the web and general website management.Experience in designing and developing publications for a range of audiences to meet communications objectives, including experience using Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop.
3. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral), including a demonstrated ability to write for various audiences and proof-read and edit materials for publication.
This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which permanent or fixed term appointments with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency will be made. Currently there is one (1) full time fixed term position available up to 4 September 2026 with the possibility of further extensions and/or permanency.
