As Nurse Practitioner you will be responsible for providing general nursing care to patients with the additional ability to undertake tasks such as assisting in emergency medical responses, prescription of medications/vaccinations, ordering diagnostic investigations and direct referral to other health care professionals. You will adhere at all times to the competencies, guidelines and codes of professional standards as detailed by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), as well as Defence Policies and Procedures, legislative requirements and clinical governance directives.To be successful in this role, you will have:The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner).Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), General and Endorsed Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA.Context of Nurse Practitioner registration shall be within a general adult acute care setting and primary health care environment (excluding practitioners with narrow fields of sub-specialities including paediatrics, geriatrics, oncology, neonatology and midwifery).Minimum of 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) nurse practitioner experience within a general adult acute care setting, primary health care environment, or military setting within the last 5 years.Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.About Wagga Health CentreThe Wagga Health Centre is located at RAAF Base Wagga at Forest Hill, South-East of Wagga Wagga and has been an integral part of the community since 1940. Known as the "Home of the Airman", it houses the RAAF schools of Technical Training, Administration & Logistics and Postgraduate Studies. Services provided include primary medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Health Centre staff may be required to work across Wagga & Kapooka.
