Sylvanvale Limited is an award-winning not-for-profit service provider that supports over 750 people with disability.We pride ourselves on assisting individuals, from a range of diverse cultural backgrounds, to live and participate in their community as they choose.Our services are provided at sites across greater Sydney including the Blue Mountains.About The Role We are looking for creative and proactive individuals to join our Sylvanvale Services team, who support people with a disability who attend our Community Hubs, Flexible Support and Social and Community programs.Our Community Hubs, which are based in the Sutherland Shire, offer Programs of Support for every taste and preference.They operate Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm and on-demand weekday evenings and on weekends.Sutherland Community Hub offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities which include art, dance, cooking and exercise.Garden House is located in an eco-friendly permaculture garden, has an outdoor kitchen, chickens and geese and offers gardening, sewing and soap making.Craft Centre is a creativity hub, where participants build and paint beautiful wooden toys and equipment.Our Social and Community program is perfect for people who enjoy small group activities.The outings occur Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm, and on demand on Saturdays, using public transport to various destinations.Our Flexible Support team supports clients in their own home or in the community, 7 days a week.Areas include Villawood, Minto, Kirrawee, Loftus and Beverly Hills You could earn between $33.41 and $34.46 per hour as a base rate.You will be required to: Support customers to access and be a part of their local community.Offer personal care and administer medication Assist in building their skill levels and capacity development Support with effective communication techniques Implement and deliver exciting and goal orientated activities About you Your success in this role will rely on your ability to be patient, caring and passionate about helping others.You will need to: Be focused on delivering customer outcomes through teamwork.Be committed to supporting people with disability to reach their full potential.Have an open mind and think outside the box!Have a positive can-do attitude, creating best practice outcomes for the people you support.Essential for this role Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Active listening and observations skills.Sound computer skills.Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.Preferred Experience in providing care services in disability, health or community sector.Qualification in Disability, Community or Individual Support.Successful applicants will require an Australian Drivers Licence, and a current First Aid Certificate.An offer will be subject to a police clearance, a pre-employment medical and a NDIS Worker Screening Check.Benefits of working with us 17.5% annual leave loading for permanent employees.$15 900 of your annual salary tax free through generous not for profit salary packaging.Access to package up to $2,750 for meal and entertainment expenses each FBT year.5 weeks annual leave pa. pro rata for permanent employees undertaking shift work.Free and confidential counselling services for you and your family Leave work each day, knowing you have supported people with disability to live their best lives.Apply If making a positive difference in someone's day to day life inspires you, we would like to meet you!We encourage you to proceed with our application process and attach an updated resume and cover letter addressing the essential criteria of the role.
