An opportunity exists for an experienced Control Systems, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineer to join the sustaining capital team at RIO Tinto Cape Lambert. This position is offered FIFO Perth on an initial 5:2 4:3 roster. The Opportunity Working as part of a multidisciplined team this role will be responsible for:The electrical design for defect elimination & operational improvement projects.Provision of Wonderware HMI & control system operational technical support.E&C Technical guidance, design review and assurance for capital projects.Design validations ensuring conformance to best engineering practise based on RTIO, Australian and International standards.Operations and maintenance technical supportTechnical guidance on protection and earthing.E&C Asset Management for hardware and software. About You To be successful in this role you will ideally have:Minimum 10 years' experience working on large sustaining capital projects with exposure to balanced machines (stackers, reclaimers, ship loaders), substations, switch rooms, conveyor drives and transfer chutes. Client side or EPCM project experienceTertiary Qualifications in Electrical, Mechatronic or Control Systems Engineering.Experience with Wonderware development and Schneider modicon plc’s.Experience with Digsilent Power Factory.Practical understanding in the use of SAPSound knowledge of functional safety principles and design requirements.Strong communications skills and stakeholder engagement strategiesThis opportunity is offered with immediate start on a 24-month contract with potential to extend.
