**What’s the role?**
This role focuses on analysing financial data, developing dashboards, and creating reports that help drive informed decision-making.
The Finance Data Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, streamline processes, and contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at improving financial performance and operational efficiency within the business.
**Responsibilities**
+ **Data Accuracy Maintenance:** Ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial data across all databases.
+ **Month-End Process:** Manage the month-end closing process by coordinating between the various data teams and validating data accuracy and ensuring data is correctly reconciled.
+ **Budget and Forecast Support** **:** Provide technical assistance to the Finance team during budgeting and forecasting processes.
+ **Visualization** **:** Develop and maintain visual dashboards and reports to present financial data effectively to stakeholders.
+ **Process Improvement and Automation:** Identify and implement opportunities to streamline data processes, including automating data collection and reporting to enhance efficiency.
+ **Database and Application Support:** Manage and support financial databases and applications, addressing any issues that arise.
+ **Ad-Hoc Data Requests:** Respond promptly to ad-hoc data inquiries from stakeholders, supplying accurate and timely information.
+ Undertake responsibilities as needed to support stakeholders and contribute to News Australia’s initiatives.
**Who are you?**
+ 2+ years’ relevant experience.
+ A degree in Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Engineering or relevant field preferred.
+ Good understanding of relational databases with strong SQL and analytical skills, experienced in working with large, complex datasets, including building queries and extracting data.
+ Prior experience with Tableau, Power BI or similar visualisation tools.
+ Prior experience with TM1 or similar systems would be advantageous but not essential, but willing to learn.
+ A strong desire to solve problems
+ A self-starter with the ability to both drive and take accountability.
