WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Technical & Engineering Manager (Full-Time, Permanent) to join our Operations Major Projects team.This is an opportunity to work with an essential organisation creating a more sustainable future for the state.This role offers the flexibility to work around life, your contribution will be valued, and you’ll be supported to build a rewarding career.Our perks and Benefits:Up to 16 weeks paid parental leaveFertility leaveYearly corporate wear allowanceProfessional development and educational assistanceAccess to remote area benefit packaging – based on work locationAttractive remuneration on offerAnd so much more!What you’ll do:Leadership: Lead representation and implementation of technical/engineering standards across internal and external engineering teams developing and delivering major projects.Advice: Manage provision of specialised and/or WaterNSW specific engineering advice and technical input to projects regarding problem identification, optioneering, and recommendations to support project needs, and to ensure key technical stakeholders within WaterNSW are well consulted and integrated into project teams engineering and technical processes when required.Representation: Represent WaterNSW engineering and technical requirements with external delivery agencies and ensure we are supporting the development and delivery of projects and are complying with obligations.Assurance: Provide oversight and assurance of design processes during development of solutions options, concept and detailed designs and REFs or EIAs where relevant.Design Management: Oversee the design review process of external designers including the inclusion of any independent verifier, dam expert review panels in the design process ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice, where appropriate.What we are looking for:Bachelor’s degree or higher tertiary institution in relevant engineering disciplineDemonstrated experience in managing the engineering and design aspects of multiple and complex multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects (such as in mining, transport, etc.)Experience in influencing and working collaboratively & effectively with a diverse range of internal & external stakeholders to review, analyse, negotiate and implement technical solutionsDemonstrated experience in managing external design consultants to problem solve complex engineering issues and to determine appropriate solutions to technical challenges through evaluation of optionsGood to Have: Knowledge of assets relevant to WaterNSW such as water, civil and roads infrastructure.How we will support you:At WaterNSW, we balance flexibility – and the way we work – with the needs of the business, our teams, and us as individuals.When it comes to working in an office, we work in a hybrid way.
