Role The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges- range 1 and range 2. The primary focus of the classroom teacher is on the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Responsibilities Title: Physical Education and Health teacher Reports To: Health/PE KLA Leader Time fraction: 1.0 FTE - Terms 1-4, 2025 A classroom teacher at Thornbury High School is responsible for designing and delivering an educational program for their students which is consistent with the aims and objectives of the School and the Department of Education. Across Years 7-9, all of our students undertake PE and Health classes. Furthermore, at Years 9 and 10, there are a range of PE and Health electives for students to choose from; and at VCE we offer PE, Health and Human Development, and VET: Sport & Recreation. Thornbury High School also runs a highly successful Sports Academy program, specialising in netball, basketball, soccer and AFL. Whilst we are primarily seeking a PE and Health teacher, there may be the scope to teach in other Learning Areas (either in 2025, or beyond), depending on the method areas, skills and experience of the successful applicant.
