Join Australia's most trusted organisation Permanent full-time position Location: South Australia Salary $101 K - $110 K plus 15.4% nominated ABC super The Role The role of Investigative Reporter will utilise a range of contacts, sources, and investigative techniques to break news for local and national audiences across digital and broadcast platforms. The Job: With limited direction, generating exclusive South Australian stories utilising a wide network of contacts, trusted sources, research, data, and open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques. Breaking high-quality and high-impact original News stories of significant impact to South Australian and national audiences. Writing concise and accurate copy and scripts, using creative storytelling techniques. Demonstrate advanced media production and presentation skills. Identify and manage editorial risks, working closely with News Leaders and ABC Legal to manage those accordingly. Generate stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the cultural, geographic and socio-economic diversity of the country. About You You are an experienced Investigative Reporter in a broadcast, digital or newspaper environment, with a list of sources and contacts to match. With considerable experience in breaking exclusive stories that have state-wide impact at the highest levels and hold all levels of government to account. You will also have: Experience writing clear, concise copy and/or broadcast scripts. Demonstrated experience delivering complex issues in a way that both engages and informs audiences across a range of broadcast, digital and social platforms. Advanced understanding of digital journalism and how audience insights and analytics can inform innovative storytelling. High-level communications skills, with an ability to work individually or as part of a wider production team. Advanced ability to utilise a variety of production techniques, including long-form digital and interactive presentations. Highly advanced ability to manage a range of stakeholder relationships, including collaborations with ABC News units across SA. Excellent time management skills.
