About Us
We are a leading emergency service agency responsible for ensuring the safety of people and property across Queensland through effective prevention, preparation, response and recovery activities.
We comprise the Fire and Rescue Service, the Rural Fire Service and the State Emergency Service, supporting other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders.
Purpose of the Role
This role is unique in that we deliver high quality fire, rescue, emergency and disaster management services through a single agency, collaborating with key stakeholders to improve safety outcomes for the community.
Key Requirements
You must have:
* A manual C Class driver's licence
* Australian Permanent Resident Status
* Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station
* Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
As an auxiliary firefighter, you will commit to attending 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours, or 30% as a shift worker with non-routine hours.
Your Key Accountabilities
You will:
* Respond to fire and other emergency incidents
* Promote community safety and emergency preparedness
* Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills and training courses
* Maintain attendance standards for emergency incidents and training
* Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely
Capabilities

Salary: The estimated salary range for this role is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
