The Information Technology department contributes to this vision by transforming Melton City Council service delivery to achieve operational excellence, build community trust and enhance citizen experience when engaging with council services. As an IT Service Desk Officer, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to end-users, ensuring the effective operation of IT systems and services across the Melton City Council. This will include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing service requests, and maintaining a high level of customer service. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including end-users, vendors, and team members, to ensure smooth IT operations and enhance overall service delivery. Key Responsibilities Provide first-line support for IT-related issues, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, ensuring timely resolution and user satisfaction. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge base and document solutions for common technical problems to improve service efficiency and effectiveness. Support the setup, installation, and configuration of IT equipment, such as computers, printers, and other peripherals, for new and existing users. Monitor and manage IT assets, including logging and tracking inventory, coordinating hardware/software requests, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies. About you To be successful in this role you will have the following: Tertiary Qualification with little experience, alternately no Degree or Diploma but with lesser formal qualifications with relevant work experience in Information Technology service delivery. Ability to display an understanding of the relationship between different technology components such as networking, applications and hosting. Understands user account management within Microsoft Active Directory. Must have a thorough understanding of incident management and request fulfilment processes. Ability to demonstrate a friendly attitude when dealing with customers. Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
