About the role: The opportunity exists for a Station Manager, who is driven to deliver a robust commercial outcome. The successful applicant has demonstrated effective leadership in sound safety, animal welfare and production, people management, delegation of responsibility and business acumen. The Station Manager is responsible for the management of personnel, assets, operations, and financial performance of a large-scale cattle station in the Northern Territory. This role encompasses a diverse range of agricultural practices including cropping, spelling and feedyard operation. Maryfield Station is just off the Stuart Highway with all-weather, year-round access, only a short drive from Daly Waters and with Katherine a few hours away to the north. Maryfield Station is located on 147,300 hectares and has 17,000 head of cattle.
Key Accountabilities: Exceptional communication, always representing the business professionally. Develop and promote a healthy safe working culture, managing the assets in accordance with the safety management system. Lead the business to deliver a wide range of revenue streams. Effective planning of operations to ensure efficient use of resources. Develop comprehensive plans to deliver compliance and operational excellence. Prepare strategic plans, budgets and reports for board approval. Develop capital development plans and project manage approved projects. Leadership and people engagement. Measure, monitor and report on business performance. Business development and stakeholder engagement. Sound planning and effective communication of all logistics. Skills and Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Business / Agriculture or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a management role within the agricultural industry. Demonstrated exceptional performance in leading and developing people.
