We are part of the NDIS Partners in the Community Program (PITC), which supports the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) implementation locally.
About the Role
This role will lead a developing and experienced team of Coordinators, providing strengths-based leadership and support with NDIA planning. You will connect with local communities to build networks and pathways, creating opportunities for children with disabilities and their families.
Daily Responsibilities
1. Engage with and support Coordinators to effectively engage with families, gathering information about the child's disability, developmental delay, and/or functioning.
2. Provide support to Coordinators in undertaking observations of children in their natural environment to assess their functioning and support needs.
3. Based on professional judgment and gathered information, provide recommendations for improving the child's development and social participation.
4. Work with Coordinators to help families identify goals and aspirations for their child.
5. Support Coordinators in providing information to families about sourcing appropriate service providers.
6. Assess and review the child and family's progress against originally defined goals.
7. Implement strategies to meet the performance measures of the ECA program.
8. Maintain effective relationships with local stakeholders.
Requirements
We are seeking an experienced individual with:
* A minimum Diploma in Social Sciences, Early Childhood Education, Allied Health, or a related field.
* Experience providing supervision and support to frontline professionals with intensive caseloads.
* Extensive experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
* Ability to connect and build relationships with local community services.
* Excellent communication skills – written, oral, and listening.
* Experience working with government departments.
* Capacity-building approach experience in early childhood intervention strategies.
Other Requirements
* Current Driver's License - P1 minimum.
* Valid Working with Children's Check Clearance.
* Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Working Rights in Australia for Full-Time Employment.
* Fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
