Senior Estimator - Supply & Install Construction

About the role:
This Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects related to Supply and Install.
This role will form part of the Commercial & Trade function, reporting to the National Installations Services and Compliance Manager based at the Bunnings Support Office, Swan Street Burnley.
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in an Estimator role or similar within Building and Construction industry along with a strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, materials, labour rates, and construction methods Australia wide.
What's involved:
* Ensure all cost estimates are precise and based on thorough analysis.
* Stay updated on industry trends, labour rates, and material costs to produce informed estimates.
* Conduct regular market analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings.
* Foster effective communication with S&I Solution Specialists, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment on project expectations.
* Conduct regular meetings to update stakeholders on estimate progress and changes.
* Prepare and submit detailed reports that provide insights into cost trends and project performance.
* Seek opportunities to enhance estimating processes and methodologies.
* Proactively educate the team around market rate changes and the key considerations when communicating or evaluating estimates/quotes.
* Ensure all estimates adhere to relevant Australian Standards (AS) and State regulations.
* Creation and upkeep of templates and recipes using take-off and estimating software.
You’ll need:
* Tertiary qualification or Diploma of Building and Construction or similar desirable.
* 3 – 5 years working as an Estimator within a building company responsible for whole of building take off and estimates.
* Experience with Take Off software e.g., BuildXact, BuilderTrend including recipe development & proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn new technologies as needed.
* Ability to interpret plans and engineering.
* Experience in preparing comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labour, and overhead for various construction projects, including residential and commercial builds.
* Experience in research and analysis of current market rates for labour, materials, and subcontractor services to ensure estimates reflect accurate industry pricing and benchmarking outputs for reference.
* Strong stakeholder management skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
