An opportunity has become available within The Royal Children’s Hospital for Patient Services Assistant
Casual Role:
Shifts: Day Shift, Afternoon Shift, Night Shift to include weekends
As a Patient Services Assistant (PSA), you will play a crucial role in supporting clinical areas by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with equipment delivery, and facilitating patient movement within the hospital. Reporting to the PSA coordinators and the nurse in charge, you will ensure your practices align with Infection Control guidelines and Cleaning Standard for Victorian Health Facilities.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, assisting with equipment delivery, and managing patient transport needs. You will need to respond promptly to both planned and unplanned absenteeism by providing coverage as required. This may include accepting calls for shift coverage at short notice, demonstrating flexibility and reliability in meeting the hospital needs.
To be successful in this role you will have:
1. Certificate III in Health Service Assistant (PSA) is essential.
2. Previous experience as a PSA is desirable.
3. Well-developed communication skills (verbal and written).
4. Proven interpersonal skills.
5. Commitment to service excellence.
6. High attention to detail.
7. Willingness to undertake required training.
8. Ability to resolve conflict in a professionally.
9. Capability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a diverse team.
10. Hardworking, reliable and punctual.
11. Physically fit for manual work
