Our client has developed a reputation for being an industry leader when it comes to efficiency and productivity, operating one of the largest sugar mills in Australia. Quality raw sugar and by-products such as molasses and renewable energy are all produced at the site.
About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will provide direct assistance with the running of the engineering and maintenance department. Your role is pivotal in the planning, scheduling, organizing, and execution of maintenance activities across the entire factory operations.
Core responsibilities include:
Lead and provide direct support to three Maintenance Engineers each responsible for a major area of the factory and the workforces supporting them. Provide technical support to the production department including troubleshooting plant and equipment running issues and coordinating responses to breakdowns during the peak production period. Oversee the planning and execution of maintenance works for regular short, planned stoppages during the peak production period and for the annual major shutdown program of maintenance and upgrading works. Assist with monitoring plant reliability including ensuring a condition monitoring program is implemented. Ensure appropriate resources are secured and allocated to complete maintenance activities. Assist with the preparation and monitoring of maintenance budgets. Key Position Requirements:
Proven skills and experience in the planning and coordinating of plant maintenance and upgrading activities associated with a manufacturing or similar operation. Highly effective technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to coordinate responses to breakdowns and plant and equipment running issues. Effective leadership and supervisory skills, including the ability to provide technical direction and support to maintenance teams and contractors. Proven ability to ensure Health, Safety & Environment procedures and practices are being embraced and adhered to. Effective verbal and written communication skills including; the ability to effectively facilitate workplace meetings and professionally prepare a wide range of engineering and maintenance reporting. Proficiency in using computer systems and programs, in particular Microsoft Office programs and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Relevant qualifications in the Mechanical Engineering and/or Mechanical Trade fields. For further information about this excellent opportunity, please contact:
