About the role
We are seeking a diligent and organized Equipment Officer to join the Transperth Train Operations Security Services Branch. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient management of the Transit Office Equipment Store, ensuring that hardware equipment is securely stored, maintained, and readily available for use. Your key duties will include conducting regular stock-takes, organizing the issuance and return of staff equipment such as radio packs, and managing equipment repairs. You will also oversee the security and retrieval of keys for Transit Office vehicles, providing vital support to ensure smooth operations.
As the Equipment Officer, you will play an integral role in assisting the Security Branch, handling inquiries at the Equipment Store front counter, conducting basic data entry, and assisting in the preparation of reports. Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential for this role. About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
* Proven knowledge of general administrative procedures, customer service techniques, and managing equipment maintenance, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with staff and stakeholders.
* Well-developed organizational abilities to manage tasks efficiently and maintain an orderly work environment.
* Proficient in using word processing, spreadsheet, and data processing software packages.

There is currently one fixed term opportunity available 12 months with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies on a fixed term or permanent basis that may arise within the next 12 months.
