Sir Stamford at Circular Quay Hotel
Surrounded by the Royal Botanic Gardens, beautiful Sydney Harbour, the city skyline and located on the historic Macquarie Street is Sir Stamford Circular Quay. Awarded for its outstanding service and facilities, the hotel features 18th Century Louis XV and Georgian antiques, and houses one of Australia's largest private collections of fine art. The hotel itself partly resides in a building dating back to the late 1800's that is listed with the National Heritage Register.
The hotel offers 105 generously sized, luxuriously appointed guest rooms including 15 suites, a restaurant, a bar and 4 function rooms.
The role
We are currently looking to an energetic and passionate Full Time Commis Chef to join our Kitchen Team at Sir Stamford at Circular Quay.
Duties and responsibilities
1. Preparing mise-en-place for your designated work station to ensure the smooth running of service
2. Prepare all food items in accordance with standard recipes
3. Support the senior chefs in keeping up to date with the newest products and recipes
4. Check food rotation to ensure freshness of all food products, keeping control of food wastage
5. Adhere to the Hotels Policies and Procedures
6. Meet all health and hygiene requirements and cleanliness
The successful candidate must have
7. An Australian recognized Trade or relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery
8. The ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen
9. Excellent communications skills, friendly and helpful
10. A proactive approach to system improvements
11. Knowledge of HACCP and relevant food safety accreditations
