Situated in the hub of the Eastern Suburbs, a minutes’ drive from the freeway, nice industrial gardens to walk through and enjoy good coffee just around the corner APG are looking for qualified CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator who has experience in manufacturing and are looking for an ‘’ongoing casual” role where you can learn and grow, with the goal to become a permanent member of the team. Hours for this role are: Day shift- Monday to Friday – 6am – 2pm Bayswater, Victoria Pay rate : $49.27p/h The role: This position is accountable for programming, setting and production on the CNC machining centres. Production output is to be in line with targets based on CNC cycle times set by planning and leadership representatives in conjunction with machine operators. This position is a production role. Operate CNC machines to achieve daily production requirements. Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers, indicating vices. Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards. Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Contribute to business goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment. Inspect the work area and machines that were used during the day. Conduct all activities in accordance with ISO accreditation standards. Ensure activities comply with legal and ethical standards. Ensure all employees observe safe work procedures including the use of protective equipment where necessary. Conduct walk through assessments monthly on the shop floor and raise OFI if required. Ensure that all work is carried out safely and workplace legislation is strictly enforced. Report any areas of concern to management for resolution. Adhere to workplace standards for absenteeism and timekeeping. To be successful for this role: You must have previous CNC, Programming, setting and operating experience with Laythe and Milling machines. You must have certified qualifications to Australian standards. You must have full working rights to work in Australia.
