Graduate Quantity Surveyor Role Overview We are seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team.As a graduate, you will work closely with senior quantity surveyors to support the management of costs, contracts, and project budgets for renewable energy infrastructure projects, including high-voltage and low-voltage systems.This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop a career in quantity surveying within the exciting and fast-growing renewable energy sector.Duties and Responsibilities Cost Management : Assist in the preparation and management of cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for renewable energy projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.Tendering and Procurement : Support the tendering process, including preparing and reviewing tender documents, and liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and negotiate terms.Contract Administration : Assist in managing contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms, and identifying and addressing any issues that arise during the contract lifecycle.Project Monitoring : Monitor and track project costs, expenditures, and cash flow, ensuring that any variations or discrepancies are identified and addressed promptly.Risk Management : Help identify project risks, including cost-related risks, and work with the project team to implement strategies to mitigate these risks.Reporting : Prepare and present regular progress reports on costs, budgets, and financial performance to senior management and stakeholders.Learning & Development : Participate in professional development activities, including attending relevant training and working towards chartered status with a recognised professional body (e.g., RICS).Collaboration : Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure that financial and contractual aspects of the projects are aligned with the overall objectives.Skills and Experience: Educational Qualifications: A degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.A keen interest in renewable energy and infrastructure projects.A basic understanding of quantity surveying principles, cost estimation, and project management.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and experience with quantity surveying software is a plus.Strong analytical and numerical skills with an attention to detail.Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing project finances.Desirable but not essential: Knowledge or interest in the renewable energy sector, particularly within the areas of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical infrastructure.Any previous work experience or internships in quantity surveying or construction.What We Value We value our commitment to each other, summed up in our five values: safety, integrity, striving for improvement, making a positive impact, and delivering growth.Company Information: Established in 1994, OCU Group is one of the fastest growing utility engineering contractors in the UK.We work directly with many of the country's leading blue-chip power, water, telecoms, and rail clients.We pride ourselves on empowering our employees and offering opportunities for personal development and career progression in a supportive environment.We celebrate difference and appreciate diverse backgrounds.We encourage everyone who joins us to be themselves at work and create inclusive teams in our workplace.#J-18808-Ljbffr
