Job Title: Therapeutic Specialist
This position is situated within the Therapeutic Residential Care (TRC) Program, which provides intensive and time-limited care for children and young people in statutory care. The program focuses on addressing the complex impacts of abuse, neglect, and separation from family through the creation of positive, safe, healing relationships and experiences informed by a sound understanding of trauma, attachment, and developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide therapeutic leadership and trauma-informed interventions based on sound practice expertise and contemporary research.
* Deliver positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
Requirements:
* A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values.
* An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline.
* Current registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a higher degree in psychology at master's level preferred.
* Post-graduate training in relevant child, adolescent, and family clinical practice, family therapy, and systemic thinking strongly preferred.
