Whyalla Hospital and Health Services is a large regional hospital comprising of 75 beds including flex beds and a designated High Dependency Unit. The hospital provides a wide range of services, including emergency, medical and surgical, maternity, rehabilitation, mental health, and outpatients. Whyalla Hospital’s Cancer Resource Centre is one of the largest in regional South Australia.
About the Role:
As the Nurse Midwife Unit Manager in Chemotherapy, you will utilize your clinical expertise to coordinate patient/client care delivery within a Health Unit or Community Service. Your primary focus will be on line management, coordination, and leadership of nursing/midwifery and multidisciplinary team activities, ensuring continuity and high-quality patient care and outcomes.
In this role, you will be accountable for nursing/midwifery practices and multidisciplinary results, addressing any inconsistencies between practice and policy. You will also play a key role in developing team performance and fostering a positive work culture, all in the interest of enhancing patient/client outcomes.
About you:
* Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
* Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with at least 3 years post-registration experience.
* Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing and/or midwifery practice in accordance with the relevant standards
* Experience in management and leadership roles
* Experience in the supervision of students, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and/or midwives.
Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
