We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Improvement Projects & Support Officer to join our Business Transformations team and to provide efficient and effective administration and project support to the Business Improvement department.
About this Role
This provides high-level effective administration support and project assistance to the Business Transformation Projects Coordinator, Team and wider Business Improvement department to ensure the smooth planning and delivery of projects. The position involves managing project documentation, coordinating administrative systems, and assisting with the development of communication and training plans. You'll also be responsible for delivering minor projects and ensuring the accurate maintenance of records and reports.
The role requires a proactive and organised individual who can collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders, demonstrating strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Experience in project environments, excellent communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are key to success, alongside the ability to work both independently and within a team.
The position objectives also include:
* Portfolio & Project Support: Provide high-level administrative support to the Business Transformation Projects team and the broader Business Improvement portfolio, ensuring smooth project planning and delivery.
* Project Support: Support &facilitate development of engagement, communication and training plans and related documentation and content in conjunction with the Project Managers, Analysts and Solution Specialists to ensure that they are maintained, up to date and adhered to.
* Documentation and Governance: Facilitate the development, maintenance, and adherence to project plans and related documentation, ensuring project governance and compliance with council and community standards.
* Process and System Coordination: Manage electronic and manual systems that contribute to the efficient operation of the team, helping to improve processes and ensure smooth departmental operations.
* Minor Project Delivery: Deliver minor projects as delegated, supporting broader business improvement efforts and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
About You
We are seeking an adaptable and self-motivated individual, committed to contributing to the success of the Business Improvement department.
You will be an organised and detail-oriented professional with experience in administration and project support, ideally in corporate or local government settings. You will be able to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and ensure smooth project processes. Your strong communication skills will help you collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders. With a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen interest in information technology or project environments, you will play a key role in supporting successful project delivery.
You'll also need:
* Tertiary qualification in a field relevant to project delivery and support, or lesser qualifications together with demonstrated administrative experience and excellent corporate record keeping skills and/or exposure to project delivery environments.
* Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and communication skills, including a mature and professional approach to customer service and stakeholder engagement and ability to feedback issues to management in a professional manner.
* Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, set priorities, and meet deadlines, accompanied by an ability to perform a number of tasks concurrently with minimum supervision
* Strong computer skills and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Products as well as of a range of software applications.
* Proven ability to work independently and also as part of a team. Demonstrating flexibility in the work environment, including accepting and/or sharing tasks.
* A 'can-do' attitude and desire to support transformational change throughout the organisation.
* An interest in project management, IT systems or business transformation and improvement using digital technologies.
* Experience in Local Government service delivery is desirable.
* Knowledge of or prior exposure to Project Management in a corporate setting is desirable.
