Putting communities at the heart of our research, we develop tests, treatments, cures and prevention strategies that have the greatest chance of success.Why Your Role Matters:The Senior Research Officer will support the implementation of the Australian Hepatitis and Risk Survey in Prisons (AusHep).
Key responsibilities include participant recruitment, biological sample collection for point-of-care testing, and conducting participant interviews.The role involves close collaboration with the AusHep Clinical Project Coordinator and senior investigators from the Viral Hepatitis Clinical Research Program (VHCRP) and the Viral Immunology Viral Systems Program (VISP).
Regular travel to correctional centers across Australia is required to engage with incarcerated individuals and staff from Justice Health and corrections organizations.Degree in nursing, biomedical sciences, or similar, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Experience/Background in nursing will be highly regarded.Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework.Demonstrated knowledge of blood borne viruses and experience working in infectious diseases clinical practice (desirable).Demonstrated experience in direct contact with patients from marginalised populations or similar complex backgrounds.
