As a key member of the School Executive, the School Manager contributes to both strategic and operational management, ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching, research, and operational goals through collaboration with various organisational stakeholders.In the areas of strategy and operations, the School Manager assists the HoS and the School Executive in developing strategies, setting priorities, and establishing measures of success.
This includes coordinating review processes, advising on organisational structures, facilitating the efficient operation of research and commercial projects, and ensuring a seamless experience for staff, students, and external stakeholders.
Additionally, the role involves building collaborative relationships and liaising with central UQ services such as Marketing, IT, and Student Services.In terms of governance and risk management, the School Manager provides assurance that risks are effectively managed through strong management controls.
This includes ensuring compliance with relevant statutes and standards and supporting the HoS in navigating major policy changes.
The role reports directly to the Head of School and has a functional relationship with the Faculty Executive Manager of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences.About YouWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee the operations of the School of Biomedical Sciences.
In this senior leadership position, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of a wide range of high-quality services that support the School's goals.
As the School Manager, you will manage all operational aspects, focusing on the organisational and financial sustainability of both the School and the Faculty.The ideal candidate will hold a postgraduate degree and possess substantial experience in a similar leadership role, preferably within a higher education context.
Key responsibilities include financial and budget planning, human resource management, and student and academic administration.
You should demonstrate strong financial acumen and an ability to work independently, paying close attention to detail while taking initiative within established policies.
Your experience should also include developing administrative strategies and policies, leading multi-site teams, and effectively communicating with diverse stakeholders, all while maintaining a client-focused approach.
