Job Description:
This role requires an Interstate Horse Truck Driver to operate from Victoria (Geelong) to Scone NSW and return.
Key Attributes:
* Full-time position based on 38 hours with flexibility to work additional hours as required.

* Proven experience in horse care and handling, with attention to detail and ability to lead, load and unload horses safely.
* A safe and meticulous driver with a clean driving record, responsible for the maintenance of company equipment and the welfare of our precious cargo.
* Proficient in using technology including GPS navigation and mobile apps for addresses and contact information.
* Able to maintain accurate records using a NHVR work diary and adhere to relevant regulations.
* Will assist with various tasks as required, including stable cleaning, truck maintenance, general horse care and other duties as assigned.
* Presentation is key, representing the company with enthusiasm and professionalism while maintaining excellent communication skills.
* A team player with a passion for delivering exceptional results, able to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
About the Role:
This position involves driving a company-supplied rigid truck from VIC to QLD on a weekly basis, transporting horses between designated locations under the guidance of the manager.
The typical route commences at Avalon, VIC, proceeding via the Hume Highway to Sydney, then Newcastle and finally Scone, NSW, before returning to Avalon, VIC. The trip may involve meeting up with another truck from QLD for horse exchange and/or receiving/passing horses to our Western NSW truck.
This role typically spans 3 days, with 2 nights away from home and local Vic work on remaining days, typically resulting in a 5-day working week.
In addition to driving duties, the successful candidate will be responsible for caring for the horses during stopovers, ensuring their health, security and access to food and water. Daily updates will be communicated to animal owners through photo and written reports.
A daily run sheet outlining scheduled pick-ups and deliveries with corresponding times will be provided to guide the driver's activities.

We are a close-knit team that prioritizes the well-being and safety of our equine partners. Our business operates under family ownership and management, covering multiple routes across TAS, VIC and NSW.
Our fleet includes trucks traveling between TAS and VIC on regular occasions, as well as locally in Tasmania and Victoria. We have two private stopovers in Lower Barrington, TAS, and Avalon, VIC, where we also have established operational bases.
