To provide geospatial advice, spatial and data analytics, data management and research to assist the Commission in the discharge of its planning functions and powers and support the Commission to develop and maintain its electronic database, geographic information systems (GIS) and data management.
Hours per fortnight 73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.
Duties Liaise with the Commission's Planning Advisers, Senior Planning Consultants and Commission delegates as required, to provide specialist spatial and data analysis advice. Prepare high quality written and visual outputs in both 2D and 3D formats for internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with staff and Commission delegates to ensure assessments are supported with robust data sets and integrated spatial analysis. Support staff and Commission delegates by providing technical advice and training, as required. Develop bespoke applications to analyse spatial and non-spatial data to identify meaningful insights. Develop, support, and maintain digital data infrastructure for geospatial datasets relevant to the Commission's statutory responsibilities. Consult with external stakeholders, including local government officers, state agencies, private GIS consultants, applicants and the general public. Maintain a working knowledge of a variety of GIS software and monitor ongoing developments in GIS software capability and applications. Perform other duties as required, in accordance with the classification of the role.
