**Job Title: Kitchen Hand**
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Kitchen Hand to join our team at Qantas Lounges by Accor, Sydney International Airport. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of the kitchen department.
Main Responsibilities
* Dishwashing and Sanitation: Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashing machines or hand-washing when necessary.
* Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and maintain dishwashing machines, report any malfunctions or issues to management, and properly dispose of waste, garbage, and recycling materials.
* Kitchen Operations: Operate dishwashing machine as per instruction manual, action cleaning duties within the kitchen, food preparation areas, and scullery, and ensure all kitchens are kept clean and tidy according to current Health & Hygiene regulations.
* Safety and Compliance: Ensure correct handling of chemicals and equipment as per manufacturers' instructions, promote a safe workplace by recognizing hazards and promoting general WHS practices.
Requirements
* Experience: Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment is essential, with preferred experience within the hospitality or hotel industry.
* Skills: Time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods, attention to detail to ensure cleanliness standards are met, ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
* Availability: Must have flexibility to work various rostered shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends, and must have full working rights within Australia.
