The Opportunity:
We are looking for an Associate Director who can demonstrate an in-depth understanding of strategic and statutory urban planning and has an ability to provide a range of services including advice relating to land use, development capability, due diligence assessments, masterplans, the approval process, and management. You will have the opportunity to drive the growth of Urbis as NSW's pre-eminent planning consultancy offer and lead some of the state's most exciting city and community shaping projects.
The role is supported by highly experienced Directors and a market leading national Urban Planning team. Urbis provides an exciting multi-disciplinary environment to refine your skills and grow your career.
You will:
1. Provide an expert range of services including advice relating to land use, strategic and infrastructure planning, development capability, due diligence assessments, master plans, the approval process and management.
2. Contribute to the provision of expert policy advice and the development of strategies and plans.
3. Analyse and develop infrastructure and land use frameworks.
4. Lead city and community shaping thought leadership pieces.
5. Provide and apply advanced statutory and strategic urban planning principles and methods, through comprehensive data analytics.
6. Achieve revenue targets that comprise both Personal Fees and Work Under Management, through strong service delivery and project management.
7. Assist with forecasting, project budgeting and financial management.
8. Support Directors to achieve ‘whole-of-office' business plan outcomes, in conjunction with other Business Units.
9. Lead strategic projects for tier 1 private and government clients, that will shape the future form and function of NSW.
10. Proactively identify opportunities to engage and work collaboratively with colleagues from other disciplines and Business Units across Brisbane and the broader firm on cross-disciplinary projects.
About You:
11. Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline
12. Minimum 8 years relevant experience, ideally gained (fully or partly) in a consultancy environment
13. Experience using data analytics to support great strategic place outcomes
14. Proven ability to manage and develop team members
15. Proven track record of building new clients and business
16. Project Management skills, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects and producing high-quality results within a consultancy.
17. A strong and confident communicator, with the ability to encourage cross-business collaboration.
