Are you a dedicated and passionate Teacher with experience in special education? We are seeking a Primary Special Education Teacher to join our team on a fixed term basis, working with children who have Autism in a supportive and nurturing environment.
As a Primary Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing tailored educational support to children with Autism in a small class setting. You will be the main teacher responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing individualized learning programs to meet the diverse needs of each student.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum, tailored to the specific needs and abilities of students with Autism.
* Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external specialists to create a supportive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
* Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance student learning outcomes.
* Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
* Provide regular feedback to students and parents on academic progress, strengths, and areas for development.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant field
* Valid teaching certification and NESA Accreditation
* Proven experience working with children with Autism or special educational needs.
* Strong understanding of best practices in special education and differentiation strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders.
* Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
* First Aid certification (desirable).
This position is a fixed term contract which may continue into Term 2 & Term 3 for the right applicant.
