Applications close by COB on 10th March 2025Generous Salary Packaging5 weeks Annual leaveFixed term until 30th June 2025Full Time (76 Hours per fortnight)Remuneration SCHCADS level 5 dependent on qualifications and experience + 11.5% Employer superannuationAbout the positionThe primary purpose of this role is the provision of case management, assessment, and ongoing support to minimise the harms of alcohol and drug use to young people from a CALD background residing in the Southern Catchment (Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia). The position will be based within the YSAS Dandenong Day Program for this interim period and will undertake a mix of day program and casework activities. Known as the Transformer Program, the CALD Youth AOD Outreach program has been designated by DFFH to focus support primarily targeted to young people with African and Pasifika heritage who present with a range of complex AOD, health, psychosocial and legal issues. The role will report to Team Leader, Day Program (Dandenong).Some of your key responsibilities will beExperience in working with young people from CALD or refugee communities with specific and complex needs in an outreach capacity.Experience in facilitating group work activities (such as recreation/drop-in programs) with young people who are experiencing multiple and complex health and social issues.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and maintain service partnerships and highly developed communication, liaison, and networking skills.Ability to practice a range of interventions including: completing complex assessments, case work, care planning, advocacy, crisis intervention, and collaborative outreach-based service delivery.Demonstrated capacity to work both independently as well as a member of a team.Ability to participate in program development and evaluation, including clear and timely provision of written reports on program activities and outcomes.Please Note:Service delivery aspects of the role may be modified in order to comply with Victorian Government COVID-19 guidelines.As part of our Employment screening process, you will be required to undertake a National Criminal History check and have a current Working with Children Check.You must have Australian work rights to apply for this position.Further EnquiriesFor a confidential discussion about the position, please contact Brett Mc Caughan, Community Manager, on regarding Youth Worker (outreach) position, Recruitment Ref.
